So You Want To Join >The Ancients<?

What We're Looking For

We at >The Ancients< are only looking for long term members; we do not want players that will quit until the next content patch or will jump guilds at the first signs of progression struggles. >The Ancients< is not going anywhere. We want to be a successful raiding guild in BC. We want members that will be part of our raiding core that will still be with us when we're raiding in Sunwell Plateu. Everyone that joins will be given a chance to make themself stand out and earn their raid spot. Understand that during progression we will do whatever is necessary to make the encounter we're learning as easy as possible, and if you cannot handle being sat out for a fight do not waste our time or yours. That being said, we do not recruit for the bench. Everyone sees raid time whether it is progression or farm. Please know we are very fair with how we handle sitting out certain classes.

Applicant Requirement

You need to be mature and preferably 18+ years old, we don't work with mommy agro! Being vocal in vent if you play a critical role is what we like to see. We like applicants that know how to communicate on vent while doing their job. Getting to know the guild beyond the raids is key; whether it's pvping, alt raids, 5 mans or socializing in game or in ventrilo. The last thing we want is a raid logger. We do take raiding seriously despite how easy the encounter is, but we also want the person behind the toon to fit in socially.

Our ideal applicant has to be a very competitive player as a whole. When you get beat you have to look for ways to improve. You have to be intelligent and hopefully spend time min/maxing yourself to be the best possible. If you currently do not do whatever it takes, it will not take long before the officers realize you are not the type of player we are looking for.

About >The Ancients<

>The Ancients< is built into Our Raid Team. Members are a part of our core progression raid group. Maintaining a solid team atmosphere is very crucial to us. We like to socialize during raids and off raids. >The Ancients< members all know one another, and are more than just a guild, but somewhat of a family. Regardless of our close-knit atmosphere we have no problem welcoming newer members to our guild and making them feel like they are part of the team. Our guild takes raiding very seriously, we do not like wiping on anything. We use consumables for any and all raids we go to, and thus we expect all applicants to be this prepared as well.

Schedule and Attendance

>The Ancients< raids start at 20:00ST. Invites will go out 15 minutes prior to the raid starting, and at start time we expect everyone to be buffed up and ready to start. At the end of the night we may extend a raid for one more attempt if we are close to downing a boss, but normally will end on time as we all have real life commitments as well.

If you cannot commit to BOTH of these raid days, don't waste your time.

Sunday  : Be online at 19:45 , invites start at 19:50 - first pull 20:00!
Thursday  : Be online at 19:45, invites start at 19:50 - first pull 20:00!

We expect all members to be able to attend these raids as it is a small commitment. We require all our members to let us know in advance if they cannot attend a raid, failure to do so can result in demotion/removal as necessary. We all commit the same amount of time to raiding, and thus expect that you will have the decency to let us know in advance if you will be late/absent.

Loot Distribution

>The Ancients< handles our loot distribution with Masterlooter. Loot is merely a tool for us to advance into more competitive dungeons, however we do use a fair DKP system within our ranks that do welcome newcomers, also do remember we don't only kill a boss 1 time, your item will drop more than once.

Application Process

Our application process normally lasts about two weeks. However, it can be extended/shortened under certain circumstances. We do not bring our applicants on alt raids to test them out. You will raid with the main raid team you applied for, and raid the content that we are currently working on to see how you handle it. We do not promote or keep average players. We need players that are completely confident in their abilities to play their class to the fullest and can make an immediate impact in raids. If you can’t take a hit, barely do more DPS than tanks, or are a slow healer, you will more than likely not last much longer than your first raid night. Mistakes do happen and that is part of the game, but they are not forgotten. Making the same mistake constantly will result in your application period ending unsuccessfully, and may also have you being removed from guild.

We expect all applicants to be able to maintain close to 100% attendance during their trial period. We want you to want to be in our raids, and we will invest in you as much as you invest into us. We expect our raiders to know as much about a fight as possible before even stepping into the instance. That means going to websites to read up on fight mechanics and watching videos of encounters. Also, we expect that you will know not only your specific limited role in an encounter, but also the entire encounter as you never know what may happen and what may be required of you. We expect that we may have to explain any >The Ancients< specific strategies to you, but having to explain an entire encounter because you are too lazy to look it up yourself reflects negatively on you.

What You Will Get By Joining

>The Ancients< is run by a core of Officers. When a decision is made it means that several people talked it over and had their opinions on the decision. Every officer does their part to help and run the guild. Know that we are all fair and understanding people, we know how to treat our guild members. Once you are promoted to member in >The Ancients< your raiding spot will be secure and we will close recruitment for that specific class if there are no further needs. However, if you play horribly, or show that you do not care about raiding -- we will talk to you privately and tell you to change the attitude or actions will be taken.

We all strive to complete as much raid content as possible, but we have fun doing it. As serious as all the above may seem, we are all friends and do bring a fun and friendly attitude to our raiding and our guild. If you’re a prick or have thin skin, this isn’t the place for you. We like to joke with each other, and you need to be able to dish and take it. Some of us have been playing games with each other for many, many years and have made lifelong friendships along the way.
